Afflerbach Family Literacy Night. Wednesday, October 16th 5:30-7:00 pm Come meet award winning author Whitnee Coy as she shares her book. Elsie's Adventures to Brainy Cove. All students will receive a free copy, and Whitnee will be available to sing the books. Dinner will be provided.

Hi everyone! I am the social worker at Afflerbach and wanted to let everyone know about some upcoming groups/events that are available to all parents and students. Firstly, this year for Christmas help, Toys for Tots will be our main recommendation to parents needing assistance. We can't guarantee any extra help this year so applying for this as soon as possible is important. I know it requires far more documentation than other programs, but options are extremely limited this year. Secondly, PEEPS is hosting a free parenting class called Love & Logic. There will be dinner and childcare provided. Thirdly, Youth Alternatives has a couple groups available to parents that are looking for some extra support. If you have any questions about any of these events, please let me know! We will also have printouts of these flyers available at Afflerbach Literacy Night on October 16th at 5:30 pm. Thank you! At Afflerbach Elementary, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. Today at approximately 12:50 p.m., a lockdown protocol was inadvertently triggered for the school. There was no threat to students or staff, and all students and staff remained safe.
